Chris Woods was born into a musical family; his mother a violist and composer, his father a pianist and conductor. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Chris has traveled the world as a violinist, violist and composer. He has performed on many albums (Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas) and films (The Lion King, Hidden Figures). He has arranged strings for several albums, including Christina Perri’s hit song “Jar of Hearts.” He recently co-composed for the trailer of "Us," the hit thriller directed by Jordan Peele. His composition “Skyward Bound” was performed at the Guggenheim Museum in collaboration with world famous dance troupe LXD. This performance featured Chris's string quartet, Quartetto Fantastico, whom he also composes and arranges music for, including several commercial scores. He was commissioned in 2023 to compose and perform as soloist Concerto Cinematique for Violin and Ochestra with The Riverside Philharmonic under the direction of reknowned conductor Tomasz Golka. The premier concert of this piece was sold out and received a vigorous standing ovation. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his two sons and his pet turtle.
